At Kaleidoscope Travel Advisors, our mission is simple yet profound: to make travel possible, joyful, and stress-free for every family — no matter their unique needs. Our story didn’t begin with a business plan; it began with our families, our children, and the challenges we faced trying to explore the world together.
A Journey Rooted in Family
Travel has always been a passion for both of us. For me (Laura), that spark was ignited at 16 when I visited Europe with my mom. Standing inside the Globe Theatre and walking through Stonehenge opened my eyes to the richness of history and culture beyond my everyday life. For Lindsey, it was the desire to create vacations her family could truly enjoy together, despite the complexities of raising children with autism and PKU — a rare metabolic disorder that requires a highly restricted diet of medical foods.
As moms, we discovered quickly that the travel industry often didn’t know how to handle families like ours. Companies would promise to accommodate, only for us to arrive and find no safe food available. Hours of research, piecing together information from message boards, and hauling suitcases filled with medical supplies became the norm. It was overwhelming, discouraging, and for many families, it was enough to give up on travel altogether.
But then there were moments of magic. A child trying a family meal for the first time. A smile sparked by a carefully prepared social story. A trip that worked — not by accident, but because we fought to make it possible. Those moments made us realize something important: no family should have to fight this hard just to experience the joy of travel.
From Personal Challenges to Shared Mission
What started as solving problems for our own families quickly grew. Friends asked for help. Then friends of friends. Soon, we realized we weren’t just planning vacations — we were filling a major gap in the travel industry.
Together, we launched Kaleidoscope Travel Advisors with a vision: to simplify the process and create vacations where every family member feels included from the very beginning. Whether it’s planning a sensory-friendly itinerary, ensuring safe dining options for metabolic disorders, or coordinating mobility accommodations for grandparents, we believe travel should be possible for everyone.
What Sets Us Apart
Many assume that in the age of online booking, travel advisors are unnecessary. But our role goes far beyond finding flights and hotels.
We’ve lived it. We don’t just read about dietary restrictions or accessibility challenges; we’ve navigated them firsthand. That experience shapes every question we ask and every solution we create.
We advocate. We’ve built strong relationships with chefs, special needs teams, and destination partners around the world who understand what true inclusion requires. And when issues arise, we step in to make sure promises are kept.
We personalize. No two families are alike. From a child with autism who thrives on structure, to a teen with PKU who needs specific low-protein foods, we design every detail with your family in mind.
We believe in joy. Travel shouldn’t be about stress or compromise. It should be about connection, discovery, and unforgettable memories.
Growing a Legacy of Inclusion
Today, Kaleidoscope Travel Advisors is a family-owned agency that continues to grow. Lindsey leads operations and client planning, while I (Laura) focus on marketing and building partnerships that expand our reach. Together, we are preparing to welcome more independent travel advisors who share our mission so that more families can experience the kind of travel they’ve been told wasn’t possible.
We’re proud to be sponsors of Wings of Autism, helping individuals and families experience air travel in a safe and supportive environment. And we remain committed to advocacy — not just for our clients, but for a travel industry that must do better in understanding and supporting families with special needs.
Our Promise to Families
At Kaleidoscope Travel Advisors, “inclusive” isn’t a buzzword — it’s the foundation of everything we do. We know what it’s like to arrive and find the food isn’t there, the accommodations aren’t right, or the promises fall short. That’s why we go further: asking the right questions, verifying the details, and standing by your side so you can focus on what truly matters.
Because at the end of the day, travel isn’t about logistics — it’s about love, connection, and the stories you’ll carry forever.
